Intérêts de recherche :
  • Dr Jaglin's research focuses on the comprehension of molecular and cellular basis of types of human cognitive defects. His doctoral research aimed at better understanding causes and mechanisms of neuronal migration disorders that lead to severe intellectual disability and epilepsy. His current work in the field of developmental neurobiology aims at gaining insight into the understanding of inhibition in the forebrain and its pathological alterations. In the Fishell lab at NYU, he investigates how cortical interneuron diversity is build and how they acquire their organization. He is particularly interested in the period of synaptogenesis with a focus on the developmental processes establishing cortical neural networks and underlying the development of cell-type specific interneuron connectivity.

Intérêts de recherche : 
  • To understand the mechanisms underlying, and develop treatments for, co-occurring substance use in schizophrenia using behavioural, pharmacological and translational brain imaging methods.
  • To determine the long-term consequences of adolescent drug and alcohol exposure on the risk for appetitive and psychiatric disorders, with an eye toward identifying novel avenues for therapeutic intervention.  
  • To reverse-translate findings from genome-wide association studies to create and validate (using magnetic resonance imaging and behavioural studies) novel animal models of psychiatric illnesses.
